Horses are herd animals with social skills and the ability to form emotional and meaningful bonds and relationships. A stable herd provides safety and comfort. Horses thrive in a healthy herd dynamic and are naturally happier and healthier.

As we specialise in caring for retired and non-ridden horses and ponies, our goal is to welcome long-term members. 

All herds live on multi-surfaced tracks all year round, with forage, shelter, water and minerals available to them at all times free of choice.

Main Retirement Herd

This bunch is a mix of mares and geldings of different ages, breeds and sizes. The horses in the main retirement herd are social and playful with a medium - high activity level. They are fit to walk, trot and canter as well as play and are generally agile.

Super Senior Herd

This herd is suitable for older, more fragile and less agile horses with possibly low confidence and a shy nature, horses with dental issues in need of a soaked feed diet and physical issues such as musculoskeletal pain and inflammation as well as ligament or tendon injuries and conditions such as DSLD. 

The Asthma Herd

Horses with respiratory issues will thrive in our Asthma Herd. Here we offer a haylage based diet instead of hay.
